NIA’s Big Action on PFI, Simultaneous Raids at 56 Locations in Kerala
NIA Raid : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken major action against the Popular Front of India (PFI). The investigating agency has simultaneously raided 56 locations of PFI in Kerala. These include houses of many members of PFI. Raids have been conducted in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Alappuzha and Malappuram districts.

NIA Raid Has Many Grounds
According to sources, today’s action of NIA has many grounds. In fact, after being ban from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), PFI was in contact with other international terrorist organizations through which efforts were being made to raise funds.
According to the investigating agencies, efforts are being made to revive the PFI with another name. Today’s action is against those people who are PFI members. Along with this, there are some overground workers of PFI. That is, they are not officially involve in that organization, but are working for PFI.
NIA Raid on PFI’s 56 Locations
In Kerala itself, since the month of September till now, 5 raids have done by NIA against PFI. According to the investigation agency sources, Kerala has the most active members of PFI in the country, who are continuing their activities even after the previous major actions.

Petition in Karnataka High Court
A month ago, the Karnataka High Court had dismissed a petition challenging the ban on PFI. In fact, Nasir Pasha, the president of the Karnataka unit of PFI lodged in Tihar Jail, filed this petition on 27 October. Hearing on which the Karnataka High Court had reserved its decision on 28 November. Single Bench Justice Nagaprasanna dismissed the petition while giving the verdict on 30 November.
Government Ban PFI on September
The government on September 28 banned PFI and several of its affiliates for five years under the stringent anti-terror law UAPA, alleging links with global terror groups like ISIS. Many workers and leaders of the organization have arrest and sent to jail. Since then, the investigating agency is constantly working to crack down on the people associated with it.
NIA Raid : PFI Was Form on 2006
Popular Front of India ie PFI was form on 22 November 2006 by the meeting of three Muslim organizations. In these the National Democratic Front of Kerala. Karnataka Forum for Dignity and Manita Neeti Pasarai of Tamil Nadu came together. PFI describes itself as a non-profit organization. The organization does not give information about how many members are there in PFI.
