New Food Scheme : There is good news for poor and lower middle class people. The Narendra Modi government has given New Year’s gift to such people. In fact, the grains available under the National Food Security Scheme and Antyodaya Anna Yojana will now be available free of cost to the people for the next one year. Taking a major decision, the Central Government has now approved the integration of Food Security Scheme and PM Garib Kalyan Yojana. Please tell that this month the period of PM Garib Kalyan Yojana was ending.

New Food Scheme : National Food Security Scheme

Under the National Food Security Scheme, at present the beneficiaries get 5 kg of food grains per person. In this, rice or any other coarse grain is given at the rate of Rs. 3 per kg, wheat at Rs. 2 per kg and gram or any other coarse grain at the rate of Rs. Now after this latest decision of the cabinet, the beneficiaries will get this grain free of cost. At present, this scheme of giving free food grains has implemente till 31 December 2023, ie for one year. About 2 lakh crore rupees will be spent by the central government on this scheme.

Poor Welfare Scheme Will Not Be Available

Announcing the new announcement of the Central Government. Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Piyush Goyal says that ‘people no longer get the extra food grains available under the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana. Which is start at the time of the Corona crisis. The duration of this scheme is going to end at the end of this month. If you look at the figures, under this yojana, 1,118 lakh metric tonne of food grains have distribute by the government so far. Rs 3.90 lakh crore has spent by the government for this distribution.
