PNB Customers Last Chance, Complete KYC Update, Otherwise Account Will Be Closed

KYC Update : The customers of Punjab National Bank (PNB) who have not yet updated their KYC (Know Your Customer) have only time till tomorrow. Customers whose KYC will not be updated till December 12, may face difficulty in doing transactions from their account. Punjab National Bank has clearly stated that customers who do not update KYC will not be able to withdraw money from their accounts. PNB has said that according to the rules of the Reserve Bank (RBI), customers should get their KYC updated before December 12, 2022.

KYC Update : Customers Already Notified

Punjab National Bank had said in a press release that two notices have sent to the register address of the customers whose KYC updation is pending and information in this regard has sent through SMS to the register mobile number. The bank had also shared a notification regarding this on its social media account.

Account Can Ban

Punjab National Bank had said in one of its tweets- ‘According to the guidelines of the Reserve, KYC updation is mandatory for all customers. If your account is not KYC till 30.09.2022, you have already inform about the same. You are request to approach the base branch to update your KYC before 12.12.2022. Due to non-updation, the operation of your account can ban.

How Can Get KYC Update

Customers have to provide address proof, photo, PAN, Aadhaar number and mobile number. Customers can also accomplish this task by sending e-mails. Also, you can complete this process by visiting the branch of the bank. The bank says, that it does not call any customer on behalf of the bank to get KYC update. That’s why customers should careful with such calls.

Why is KYC Necessary?

In view of the danger of increasing online fraud, the Reserve Bank of India advises all the banks of the country to update KYC regularly. Earlier banks used to ask customers to update KYC once in 10 years. But now many banks are asking to update it even after an interval of three years.
