Joshimath Sinking : The incident of landslide in Joshimath of Uttarakhand has increased everyone’s concern. The Uttarakhand administration has declared the Joshimath area as a disaster prone area. So far, 610 houses have developed cracks due to the incident of subsidence. Earlier this number was 561. - There should seismic monitoring in the area.
- Hydrological investigation should done, so that drainage, springs, local water table sources can identify.
- There should real time monitoring of land subsidence.
- There should an assessment of the damage cause to the houses, retrofitting should done.

Joshimath Sinking : Central Agencies Investigate
