E-Visa system started in India for UK Travellers, Said- Indian High Commissioner

E-Visa System : With Rishi Sunak becoming the Prime Minister of Britain, relations between India and Britain are continuously improving. In this series, the Indian High Commission on Monday announced the restoration of the electronic visa (e-visa) process for British travelers wishing to travel to India. The move is likely to widely welcome amid the huge demand for visas to India in the last few months.

E-Visa System : High Commissioner Said

Indian High Commissioner in Britain Vikram Duraiswamy said that this service will start immediately. High Commission officials in London have confirmed that travelers can start applying for e-visas to visit India from this week. He said that the process of upgrading the system is on and the Indian Visa website will soon accept e-Visa applications. This news will give relief to thousands of people.

Duraiswamy told through a video on Twitter, ‘Today’s big news is that we are going to start e-Visa once again. With this, friends of Britain will be able to travel to India relatively easily. This announcement is being praise. This issue has been raised in the British Parliament that this topic was also included in the issues of conversation in the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Indonesia last month.

E-Visa System is on E-Visa only

Prior to the announcement of e-Visa, several step taken to strengthen the Indian visa process. These include opening a new Indian Visa Center in central London and introducing a ‘Visa at Home’ facility. The steps is being take to address the growing demand for travel from the UK to India following the Covid pandemic.
