Natural Cow Dung Based Paint Manufacturing in Chhattisgarh, Unit Setup in Gauthans

Cow Dung Paint : In compliance with the instructions given by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. The Public Works Department has included the cow dung induced natural paint manufactured by Gauthans in the SOR of departmental construction works. The Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department has instructe the departmental officers to compulsorily use this natural paint made from cow dung instead of chemical paint for painting all government buildings. In the order issued in this regard,the Chief Engineer has said, the use of cow dung paint is an important and environmental friendly initiative by the Chief Minister to strengthen the rural economy.

Cow Dung Paint Price

The Public Works Department has fix the rate of the paint at Rs.53 per square meter for painting two or more coats on newly constructed buildings with washable distemper and Rs.30 per square meter for old buildings. Similarly, the rate of newly constructed wall painting with premium emulsion paint made from cow dung has been fixed at Rs.69 per square meter and for old building the rate has been fixed at Rs.41 per square meter.

Gothans Buying Cow Dung

It may be note that Gothans have establish in 9619 villages with the motive of conservation and promotion of livestock in the state along with uplifting the rural economy. Cow dung is procure from the Gauthans at the rate of Rs. 2 per kg and cow urine at the rate of Rs. 4 per liter under Godhan Nyaya Yojana. Compost manure from cow dung as well as Organic pesticides and Jeevamrit are also being prepare from cow urine. All these products are manufacture by the rural women associate with numerous self help groups.

Recently, the production of natural cow dung base paint has start in Hirapur Jarwai Gauthan located near Raipur. The unit for making natural paint from cow dung has also set up at Charama in Kanker district. Intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, units for manufacturing natural paint and putty from cow dung is set up rapidly in 75 Gothans of the state. On completion of these units. 50 thousand liters per day and 37 lakh 50 thousand liters of natural paint will produce in a year. Carboxy methyl cellulose (CSC) is the main ingredient in the manufacture of natural paint from cow dung. About 10 kg dry CMC is prepare from 100 kg cow dung. CMC accounts for 30 percent of the total paint manufacture.

Chhattisgarh Women’s Making Natural Paint

22 women associate with the Hirapur Jarvai Gauthan, located near the capital Raipur, have started manufacturing natural paint and putty made from gobar. The gobar induc natural paint being prepare. Here will use on numerous government buildings and the price of this natural paint prepare from gobar has fix at Rs 230 per litre. Which is almost half of the price of the brand chemical paint available in the market. The quality of this natural cow dung paint is at par with the paint sell by brand companies.

25 Lakhs Machinery for Cow Dung Paint

The natural paint made from dung also has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, non-toxic, eco-friendly, and fragrance-free properties. Machinery worth Rs 25 lakh have install in Hirapur Jarwai Gauthan for this paint manufacturing. President of the group Dhaneshwari Ratre said that cow dung is first put in the D water curling machine. And a solution is prepare by mixing water and many other ingredients. Then all these are mix in a high speed dispenser machine. After this paint and putty are prepare. One thousand liters of paint can prepare in eight hours with the machines install in Jarwai Gauthan.

Union Minister Appreciated Cow Dung Paint

Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has appreciate this initiative taken by the Chhattisgarh government of manufacturing natural paint and putty. He has also pointed out the advantages of this step which will create employment oppurtunities in the rural parts of the state and this pro environment initiative will also strengthen the rural economy.

CM Bhupesh Sign MoU

It is also worth mentioning here that on 21 November 2021, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. An MoU is sign with Kumarappa National Paper Institute Jaipur, Khadi and Village Industries Commission. Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises New Delhi and Chhattisgarh State Cow Service Commission. On 21 November 2021 for the manufacture of natural paint.
