Mahindra Alturas G4 : A big news is coming regarding the vehicle portfolio of the country’s leading automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra. It is being tell that Mahindra’s flagship model SUV Mahindra Alturas G4 has discontinue by the company. Although official confirmation about it is yet to receive, but this SUV has remove from the official website of the company. After which the discussion of discontinuing the sale of this model is going on in full swing. This SUV of Mahindra is as a rival of Toyota Fortuner in the Indian market, but this SUV not do anything special in the market.

Mahindra Alturas G4 Stopped booking
According to media reports, the company’s dealership has also stopped taking bookings for this SUV. For the last few months, the demand for this SUV had decreased continuously, and its sales were showing a decline. This full size SUV based on the ladder frame failed to attract the customers. The SUV last available only in a fully load 4X2 High variant, which is launch in the month of September. The price of this SUV was Rs 30.68 lakh (ex-showroom).
Notice on Company’s Website
A notice regarding the Alturas G4 has also issue on the company’s official website. In which it is written that, “Thank you for your interest in Alturas G4, keeping in view the market situation, the sale of this SUV put stay till further orders.”
SUV is not for Indian Market
Actually, this SUV was a rebadged model of SsangYong Rexton, which the company was offering in the Indian market as a Complete Knock Down (CKD) unit. Let us tell you that earlier Mahindra Group had overtaken South Korean automaker Ssangyang, but later this year it was sold to Edison Motors. Due to the high price, this SUV could not do anything special in the market. At the same time, Toyota Fortuner still remains the leader in the segment and this SUV is also getting frequent updates.

Mahindra Alturas G4 Specifications
The company used a 2.2-litre diesel engine in this SUV, which is source from Mercedes-Benz. This engine generates power of 181hp and torque of 420Nm. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission gearbox as standard. Initially, this SUV used to come in both Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and All Wheel Drive (AWD) variants. But later the company used to sell only its RWD variant.
