Sourav Ganguly is All Set to Join Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023 as Director of Cricket
Sourav Ganguly : Former President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly will return again as the Director of Cricket of Delhi Capitals. IPL source has given information about Sourav Ganguly joining Delhi Capitals.
Sourav Ganguly joins Delhi Capitals
Citing IPL sources, news agency PTI has said that Sourav Ganguly is set to be appointed as the director of cricket for the Delhi Capitals franchise. The former Indian skipper was part of the franchise as an advisor in IPL 2019 before taking over as the BCCI president.

Resigned from BCCI in October
The former Indian captain resigned from the post of BCCI President in October 2022. Ganguly will also oversee all cricket verticals of the franchise with Dubai Capitals in the International T20 League and Pretoria Capitals in the South Africa T20 League. The IPL source said, “Yes… Sourav will make a comeback with Delhi Capitals from this year. Negotiations and some paperwork are over.”
Sourav Ganguly was Mentor of Delhi in IPL 2019
An IPL source said on condition of anonymity, “He has worked with the franchise. He is comfortable with the owners. If he had worked in IPL, it would have always been with Delhi Capitals.” Ganguly was the mentor of Delhi Capitals during his stint with the franchise in 2019. It is understood that the recent auction of Delhi Capitals saw glimpses of head coach Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly.
Delhi Capitals bought five players in the IPL auction last December, with Mukesh Kumar being their costliest buy. They have also strengthened their batting with Phil Salt, Riley Rousey and Manish Pandey adding experience in the pace department in the form of Ishant Sharma.
