Director Anand Gandhi said – Kantara is not like Tumbbad, People debating on Twitter

Kantara Film : The Kantara Film, which came out of the Kannada industry, was released in theaters on 30 September. Apart from Kannada, this film, which has earned a lot in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, is still running in many theaters. There was also a big element of mythology in the story of ‘Kantara’ and while discussing it, many people started remembering the Hindi film ‘Tumbad’ released in 2018.

‘Tumbbad’ is one of those films which were not discussed much, but when people saw the film, their mouths were left open with surprise. Even in this film of director Rahi Anil Barve, a major part of the story was related to mythology. Anand Gandhi, the creative director and co-producer of ‘Tumbbad’, has now made a tweet on social media, comparing his film to ‘Kantara’. After his tweet, a new debate has now started on social media that which of the two films is better.

In his tweet, Anand Gandhi wrote, ‘Kantara is not like Tumbbad at all. My idea behind Tumbbad was to use horror as a symbol of toxic masculinity and narcissism. Kantara is a celebration of these things.

In reply to Anand’s tweet, a new debate has now started between social media users that which film is better between ‘Kantara’ and ‘Tumbbad’. One user wrote, ‘There is no reason to compare. Kantara embraces and celebrates culture. Tumbad is not like that at all. Nice cinematic experience, but nothing to feel good about at the end of Tumbbad. Kantara makes you happy in the end and also makes you feel proud. Apart from this, many users also said that ‘Kantara’ also shows the relationship between the forest and the people there.

Many people also agreed with Anand Gandhi and called his ‘Tumbad’ a much better film. Many also said that ‘Tumbbad’ is technically a better film than ‘Kantara‘.

Kantara Business 400 Cr worldwide

Users may have clashed on Twitter about ‘Kantara’ and ‘Tumbbad’, but meanwhile many people are also saying that both the films have their own different fun. Talking about ‘Kantara’, Rishabh Shetty’s film has so far collected more than Rs 300 crore in India alone in 8 weeks. The gross collection of the worldwide film has crossed 400 crores.
