India Slams Pakistan In UN Assembly on Kashmir Matter, Minister S Jaishankar Said

India Slams Pakistan : Pakistan has again raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in the United Nations Assembly. To which India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has replied. On Wednesday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar responded after Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari raised the issue of Kashmir in the UN. His answer is being discussed a lot. Slamming Pakistan without naming any country, Jaishankar said the credibility of the United Nations depends on an effective response to the major challenges of our time, be it pandemics, climate change, conflict or terrorism . S Jayanshkar further said that the question of justifying what the world considers unacceptable should not arise.

Misuse of multilateral forums to protect criminals: Jaishankar
S Jaishankar’s response came after Bhutto raised the Kashmir issue during a meeting of the UNSC convened to debate the New Orientation for Reformed Multilateralism (NORM) under India’s December presidency. On the challenge of terrorism, he said that even though the world is coming together with a more collective response, multilateral forums are being misused to justify and protect the perpetrators.

Terrorist attack in India also mentioned

Pointing to Pakistan, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said, “This certainly applies to a country sponsoring cross-border terrorism.” Citing the example of terrorist Osama Bin Laden and the terrorist attack on the Indian Parliament, S Jaishankar said that neither hosting Osama Bin Laden nor attacking the Parliament of a neighboring country is evidence to preach before this Council could work.

Statements of Both Foreign Ministers

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan said that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is primarily responsible for maintaining international peace and security. Jaishankar said multilateral solutions under the Security Council provide  effective approach to promoting peace and resolving conflicts.

It may note that amidst the demand for India’s inclusion in the Security Council. Bhutto said that adding new permanent members to the UNSC would numerically reduce the chances of the majority. UN member states being present in the Security Council. We must follow the sovereign equality of all. Not the supremacy of a few.
